Deeds of Flesh guitarist and Unique Leader Records founder Erik Lindmark died of sclerosis in late November at age 46 after a long fight with the disease, which results in the stiffening of body tissues. He left instructions that his influential label should go on without him during his last days alive in the hospital.
One act he helped break, Fallujah, stated, "He took a chance on Fallujah when we were still in school working on what would become The Harvest Wombs. We, and the west coast death-metal scene along with a lot of other bands you all know and love, owe a lot of their early careers to Erik and Unique Leader." Lindmark is survived by his wife and their five-year-old daughter Bella.
Also Erik signed bands like Disgorge, Deprecated, Scythe, Decrepit Birth, Vile, Disavowed, Pyaemia, Gorgasm, Severe Torture, & maintained deep friendships with all artists he signed. Established “Bloodletting Across” Tours across the world & even performed in humble rehearsal spaces. He will go down in metal history as a preveyor of mid to late 90’s, early 2000’s technical brutal death metal. He always strived & pushed the genere to the extreme.

RIP.. such an amazing guitarist and equally tough as fuck on vocals, his Deeds stuff is legendary especially the early to mid era stuff, paved the way for that style of brutal death metal in a lot of ways. Don't know too many bands that can create such dark sinister riffage and atmosphere while being mind bending technical but without being over the top wankery.

Damn. He really brought a lot of killer bands out of the woodwork. Tragic that he passed away fairly young. \m/
