After lurking this site for a while I think it's time to contribute (perhaps) with several uploads of shirts in my collection.
Before pissing mods and everyone off with shite pictures, and having read the rules I am still having difficulties producing proper pictures.
This has probably been asked before, yet if someone can point me to a previous thread with instructions for photographic dummies as me it 'd be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I would always include two pictures with the shirt fully visible, one showing the frontprint and the other the back.
Then another picture of the tag/label.
If there's copyright anywhere on the shirt take a close up picture as well.
Add more detailed shots of the artwork if you like.
For the picture taking itself.. Just lay the shirt out properly, for example on the floor or a table. Or you could just hang it somewhere with a clothes hanger.
Now you just need good lighting and your upload should be fine.

Thanks for the advice.
I tried earlier this afternoon with crappy light, will give it another shot tomorrow.

pretty obvious i think, since you are talking about "I tried earlier with a crappy light but didnt work"
What EXACTLY are you expecting as reply?
"I uploaded some photos with crappy lighting and it got deleted now I'm upset" is what you're saying
i dont see the logic here

yeah please just nice clean photos as per unjustifiablexistence says..

The reply as given was clear and understood.
Upon reviewing the pictures that have been taken before posting them sunlight was on them too much, so not fit to upload.
The questions asked are to prevent the post from being deleted and to make sure the first upload will be good.
So I will try again, tomorrow with those tips and a proper background.

My 2 cents here.
I could upload really big files considering I have the equipment to do so.
But as for TSS being a site run by one guy who needs funding to keep this site live (which I do and will gladly keep on doing) I choose to upload my photos in lesser resolution.
Also as long as it is not stated as an absolute rule I won't take my time to phototgraph a shirt 5 times. Standard front/back, close-up front/back and label. I will propably do this for the shirts I put in as for sale/trade, but not when I just wanna add a shirt.
Also will never iron a shirt or give a damn if there is some cat hair on it (I have 5 cats)
I hope your ok with this DoctorDeath?

I wouldnt worry too much... as long as each photo is under 5mb or so... the storage of the "original" files goes onto a RAID array of a big spinning disks that move slowly, and then they are resized into the 'web' view which goes onto the ultra fast SSD RAID drives (that are much smaller and a LOT more expensive).. so.. like the original might be 5Mb, but the resize is like 200kb, so i wouldnt worry about size too much
but yes, all this gear is paid for EXCLUSIVELY by the supporters, and it really would NOT be possible to keep this website up without you guys
basically
If you want tshirtslayer to disappear, and along with it - the worlds largest collection of heavy metal tshirts - then dont be a supporter.. it's only the price of a beer a month and we know in these days that we all spend that without thinking! especially metal collectors :D :D
thanks for your support \m/
