This is my first time making a battle jacket. Please give me some tips on how to best distribute the patches.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I bought a green denim jacket at a thrift store and have ABSOLUTELY no idea where to start or how to best distribute patches without looking silly. Also, can anyone tell me what else I can sew onto a denim jacket besides patches to make it look cool? I'll leave the sleeves on; I like the look. Also, are there any unspoken rules for the battle jacket?

No rules, its your own jacket. I recommend having enough patches to complete large sections at a time to avoid having to redo parts when you get new patches. Things you can put on the jacket that arent patches are pins, studs, spikes, chains, etc. Get creative with it

no rules, its called use your imagination, have fun, its NOT something you build all in one sitting... it takes years of collecting and having fun

Use your imagination and have fun. The only rules are the rules that you set. I did mine strictly with bands that I've seen live plus patches from my time in the Army. I can't wait to see where you take your jacket.

Well if you afraid it won't look good. First collect the patches and lay em on the jacket. Try it out. Don't sew on the instant you get them. Drag and drop until you are like: This I like! Fix em with pins and start sewing. Then remove the pins. They sharp xD. I forgotten one once and when putting it on it was sticking in my back. Not fun hahah.
