What's everybody's take on moshing while you have enamel pins on your jacket? I worry sometimes that I will lose one since I don't glue them into the pin backings. I've lost backings only to find out when I get pricked by one of my pins after getting bodied in the pit. I also worry that I'm causing unecessary hurt to people who are bumping into my pins. I've never personally experienced it with somebody else wearing pins in the pit or had people telling me my pins jabbed them while moshing, but feel like maybe other's have. I've thought about maybe making a jacket with no pins on it for shows where I know for a fact I'll be moshing.
How do you feel about pins in the pit? If I intend to mosh at a show, should I make a jacket that has no pins? Any tips on securing them so there isn't as much of a worry of them falling out?

i’ve lost a few forsure, if your gonna have them, make sure to sew them on tight. over time i’ve strayed away from pins, but if you like them rock them, but like i said… sew them down, pins, pokers, buttons… whichever
as for hurting someone, i’ve never heard of anyone getting hurt by stepping on a pin, most people are in sneakers or boots.

Completely agree with this ^
I've personally poked little holes in button-style pins before so they could be sewn on more securely, but for other styles of pins just try and figure out what works for you to sew them! I wouldn't worry about your pins hurting people in the pit.. but if you think any specific part could potentially get caught on something or poke someone then just make sure you focus your efforts on securing those for good measure!

I have pin backings that lock on to the back of the pin so they don’t fall off. I’ve been in a few pits with those pins and they didn’t come off.
