I would def add regular guitar yeah. In worse case scenario you could use midi guitars. But that's no fun if you want to perform. Unless you do backing tracks with the guitars. Since I didn't read drummer either I assume you 2 use a drum computer for drums? If it's within one of the more bigger recording programs (Ableton, FL, Garageband, Logic) you can def add some midi-guitar. Will never be as good as the real thing though imo.
Pitchshift I'd say is a personal choice. Depends if you like what you can produce yourself with your own voice.

The general consensus: If it sounds good, you're doing it right. If you think it needs more "X", tweak it and see if it sounds better that way. If it's a "big decision" give yourself a week-off from listening, or, listen to it every other day (or more;) keeps the ears fresh so you can properly conclude what is best. I forget who does this... I think it's Immolation... They get their songs mixed and then stop listening to what their making for an entire week to approach it with fresh ears.

Hell, get 2 bassists. 1 For ACTUAL Bass-Roles, and the other as a Low-end guitar. Just say'n; ya don't have to do it, but 'just throwing it out. If it rawks... Keep it up.

Also, Garageband is great for drums, I got some "Extreme Metal" drummer pack (don't recall the name, I got it back in 2011-ish,), and came loaded with samples by actual Tech-Death Giants, like Meshugga. Very flexible. I dig it. I'm betting it can be integrated with a digital drum-set but I have to try it i out.

You are right, I agree with you.
