Rick, Bay and me

I had a privilege to watch Sadistic Intent in Vienna. They played great! The only thing that bothered me was the crowd. In a city of around 2 million people, only 40 people showed up that night! Later, only about 25-30 were on their concert... (I drove 4 people from Croatia, including me) I was really dissapointed and for the first time in my life I experienced this awkward silence between the songs. No talking, no yelling, not even a cough was heard... Practically I was the only one yelling!
After the show I approached the Cortez brothers and they immediately thanked me for coming all the way from Croatia to watch them and for boosting them up during the show.
I called them over for beers and shots to the bar and they were very happy to come with me haha! Great, GREAT guys!!!
Rick gave me his guitar pick that he used that evening. He said that he has limited quantities of picks and I promised him that I'll take good care of it. This one is going into the frame.
We had an awesome conversation and good laughs! I just cannot imagine how people can be so ungrateful and unsupportive, this was not fair to all the bands that played that evening. Just because of that lack of support they didn't play the last two songs on the setlist... DAMNIT!!! Rick and Bay also told me that they never had that amount of people on their show.
All in all, I was happy to be there, to listen to them, to talk with them and to drink with them. These guys deserve more.

As sad as it is when no one turns up - I find these sorts of gigs end up the best moments and memories, It happens in Australia as well, turn up to some gigs and you can here a pin drop between songs, but the bands appreciate anyone being there, great story mate, I bet the band will remember you for being at this gig.

Yeah, usually private shows are one of the best. But it seemed like those people that attended the show were there casually. I talked with Rick over the mail on Xmas, since we're in contact for some time already. Their performance that evening was fantastic! And it's nice that they're down to earth people as well.

That's cool man. I've seen Sadistic Intent a few times here in LA. They are always brutal. It's always a packed crowd when they play, either by headline or direct support of a headliner band. I've also had the privilege of attending a band practice at their metal shop. After practice, I had a few beers and some nice conversations with the brothers. Talking about the early days and how they used to live literally down the street from the Slayer guys back in the day, etc.. They are super chill and overall nice guys. Appreciate them. Metal forever!!!!

I asked Bay which was the best show that they had this year, and he said definitely in LA. Since it's their homeground and fans are crazy there! Rick and Bay for sure are one of those people that you just have to meet before you die!

Thanks for the words and flames! Even though I wouldn't call myself a diehard fan, I'm just there to support when I can and of course always having a great time.

you know the best part of this small shows? you can talk with the artirst for a loong time and have a few beers with them, like you did.

Damn what a shame! Such a great live band & audience didn't show support! Can't believe it... I bet they were dead happy to meet up with a real Metal maniac after the show!! Well done bro!
