Thanks. It was sort of a mess of a show to be honest with you. There were a few times when the sound was really bad during their set and the ritualistic atmosphere was ruined by constant insane pit action, crowd surfing and stage diving. Who in the hell does that at this particular type of Metal show!? You know, fucking rage but not in a way that involves people constantly getting knocked down and bodies flying everywhere. They started their set with Let the Devil in and within the first two minutes of the song, Sargeist's frontman Profundus had to push some crowd surfer/stage diver back into the crowd. This was NOT the same kind of show Behexen/Demoncy was 14 months ago. Great venue though, I will say that.
Ah fuck that's a shame. I can understand more people wanting to be sound techs because it's very interesting but I think they should be trained with smaller bands and if a international comes let the pros do it! When I seen Mayhem a few songs sounded off then they tweaked it. Moshing / stage diving at a BM show? What the hell... That's just retarded. That's where people need to be kicked out or warned if their in the way of the musicians. First time at this particular venue?
Yeah, it was my first time at this venue. It's called 1720 and it's located in Los Angeles. It reminded me of a couple of great venues here in the Bay Area that I really like. There were times when I was up near the front and it was getting so fucking rowdy I felt like I was at an Exodus or Demolition Hammer show! Complete mismatch. Here's a couple of examples of live Black Metal that work:
Sweet, How far from where you live? Would be great to attend a show in the Bay Area! Now Demolition Hammer or Exodus I'd accept / expect that sort of thing. Very nice, I'd love to see Horna!! Don't know how many would rock up if they came here though...
372 miles it looks like. The thing is, I don't think Shatraug is going to want to bring Horna to California again after the way last night went. That bothers me too, since Horna is a band I'd love to see.
Sorry for appearing to contribute to the problem. Shit, I'm amazed I got any halfway decent photos at all with all of the inappropriate chaos going on all around me.
great pics, some of pics of pics even!
can i say , crowd enjoyment embodied by movement at any show is a good thing , not inappropriate. if it moves me i'll funk it out . self entitled wankers who attempt to dictate how they think a show should feel , frustrate me to hell/no end.
Haha, thank you! Other people can do what they want, I'm just saying that in some cases it seems like a strange combination. This was ritualistic Black Metal.

Ah cool, yeah pretty frustrating shit. Hopefully he does.

And of course they're probably going to avoid the Bay Area because of the insane far left social justice warrior outrage culture.

That shits retarded.... Can think of worse shit that needs to be wiped.

True it's annoying.

Yeah, it's everywhere. I think a lot of us are guilty of doing it.
