"I sense a soul in search of answers..." - Hehe

Devoted 24 year old metalhead from Cuba living in the U.S. I listen to many types of music, but deep down inside the only thing that makes me feel like I am not alone at the worst of times is metal. But metal is just metal, unless it's black metal. Then, for me it becomes more than music, and evolves into a lifestyle, ideology, a passion, and a fight against religion. I live, breathe, and BLEED black metal. It channels my innermost negative emotions... keeping me sane. It's almost like a tool for me. Instead of taking out my mass amounts of aggression on people that may or may not deserve it, I try to release it through music, as if it were a filter. Black metal to me is special. Without it, I am nothing.

Aside from it, some other metal sub-genres I really enjoy are old-school thrash and old-school death metal. It's very rare for me to find modern bands in those styles that I actually like (especially for thrash metal), but it does happen from time to time. I also love folk metal (when done right), doom metal, and some "viking" metal.

Additionally, I also enjoy music outside of the metal spectrum. Classic hard rock (Cream, Led Zeppelin, etc.), classical oriented video and movie soundtracks (my favorites are Final Fantasy scores), some crust punk, and also late 80s/early 90s alternative rock and grunge (bands with passion, and honest non-plastic from the heart music... like early Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone, early Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Blind Melon, etc.).

I am also very much fascinated with classical music (don't ask me which composers, because I can never remember any of their fucking names, haha). But I love it dearly. Everything from the medieval period is great, and from the renaissance period it's even better. Last but not least, I adore music from the age of discovery (the period after the renaissance, the 1700s).

Ok... back to metal.

I listen to way too many bands to list, but unfortunately I must admit I only have a few rare shirts, and don't invest too much in them, but once in a while I stumble upon an online rarity and try to get it :)

I do however have a lot of rare vinyl, so there's something to look at. That is what I mostly collect.

I'm interested in anything that is Arcturus, so if you have anything of theirs for sale that you think I might be interested in just send me a PM.

Do you goto any festivals or shows?: 

Actually, I don't like being around a lot of people at once. I am a misanthrope, and people make me uncomfortable... not a big fan of the human race, especially when they are in big numbers. So, I tend to stay away from concerts.

Favourite album ?: 

Albums better than you 101: The original Under the Sign of Hell = PERFECTION. Other favs include Ulver's Nattens Madrigal, Taake's Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerik, Obtained Enslavement's Witchcraft, and Arcturus' La Masquerade Infernale.
