after all the fuzz that went on at the sonisphere at knebworth the management of Maiden listened to the fans and made the dated version available for a short period of time.
Here is a comparision between the undated store version and the dated store version from the official Maiden store.
pic 1)
This is not a matter of light. The dated version (left) is much darker with more contrast the the undated version on the right.
pic 2)
the backprint of the dated version is much smaller
pic 3)
the backprint of the undated shirt has a trademark print under the flag pole
pic 4)
no trademark on the back of the dated shirt
pic 5)
the dated shirt is a FOTL heavyweight, but without a store tag
pic 6)
undated shirt is a gildan heavyweight and has a store tag
I had to buy an XL at the event due to the L all being sold out. Fortunately the Maiden Store organised a limited run re-issue of the exact shirts with the dates on the back. My L arrived today in fact.
With regards to the 'quality' of the shirts (the originals AND, it seems, the re-issued dated ones), the material they were printed on actually varied according to size:
M - Fruit of the Loom Heavy Cotton
L - Fruit of the Loom Classic Valueweight
XL - Gildan Heavy Cotton
Hell yeah both still bad ass. The Maiden store or whoever really at the shirt booths. Need too really come fucking ready. Talking truck loads of the tees so everyone can purchase one and in their size. But I think they make a limited quantity of the tour shirts especially the exclusive ones. Not everyone has the money too buy them for what I paid at the booth last year at the gig really fucking pricey.
