having a big size i kind of know that problem..
Lucky for me the band i saw last night was the first gig of the tour so they still had everything. L and XL are gone very fast sometimes, and lots of bands dont even have XXL (wich i need sometimes).

I always go for the XXL just in case, but true sometimes they don´t have that! I always ask: "Do you have that shirt in men´s sizes?"

i go for the XXL too, unless they don't have them. but sometimes, for example shirts from the brand Gildan are huge, i have 2 of them in XXL but they are pretty much like a 3XL wich is way too big for me. when a band only has XL i allways want to know the brand, some fit really small while others are huge.
if they still wouln't fit after all i would probobly turn them into a backpatch for something (unless it is a tourshirt with dates and all).
