I had a quick listening of the album on youtube, and you´re right: UDO did a great cover of XTC, but the album with that other singer sucks, sorry bro! It would have been a whole other thing with the mighty UDO!

I blame it more on the songwriting than the new singer. The record label wanted a more commercial album and thought a different singer would gain the band new fans. Obviously that backfired. The singer from that album went on to do this kick ass project with ex-Vengeance Rising guitarist Larry Farkas called Sircle of Silence. They release two CDs.
