Haha I meant I'm at a loss for words about Judas Priestess. However full flames for this classic. I have the 1973 repressing which I think this is. Do you have the inverted cross version? I'm still searching for that one.
You know what man? I could never get into Fates Warning. I dived into The Spectre Within and Awaken the Guardian quite a while back and I don't get the appeal of those albums at all. Sorry dude.
Well, that was directed at Judas Priestess, but I suppose I'll respond...
The Spectre Within and Awaken the Guardian are quite exquisite albums; they're simply not meant to be fully digested in just one or two spins. I used to not get the appeal of these albums, either, but repeated listens have finally shown me what I was missing out on. "Epitaph", "Guardian", "Fata Morgana", "The Apparition", "Orphan Gypsy", and "Prelude to Ruin" are some of the most powerful songs ever put on a progressive metal album.
Best of all, John Arch uses his vocals for more than just belting out the lyrics -- he harmonizes them, as if they were his own instrument. There's just something about the first three Fates Warning albums that gives me the confidence to give the finger to even the better days of Queensrÿche. Crimson Glory's first two albums are almost as infectious.
Of course, if it's not your thing, then it just isn't. You'll probably like No Exit, though, since it has more thrash metal elements. Night on Bröcken, the band's debut, has a strict leaning towards Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Later efforts are more commercialized.
Haha, Same here J.P, Its good to always have stuff on the list you need to get, Especially classic albums like this are a must have but there will always be other albums you see and want straight away! Money doesn't last forever.

Thanks! I think you'd be even more impressed if it was the famous "poem encased in an inverted cross" version.
