The 20 year anniversary rerelease of Covenant. Pretty weak if you ask me. Don't get me wrong. Judged by the music alone it's absolutely top tier. But the reissue itself seems kind of lazy. The only thing vaguely "special" about it was the inclusion of a sticker, gee thanks. My refrigerator will look awesome now... A 20 year anniversary of an album like this deserves better.

You mean the lowest picture? That's not slipmat. It's the sticker you got. But I'd rather have a slipmat. At least I could use one of those.

oh...thats a sticker? i thought all this re-releases came with a slipmate for the record-player...

Sadly no. Or if it did. Mine did not include it.

Wouldn't this look awesome in a leatherbinding with gold print replicating the book on the cover. And then include a lot of pictures, interviews about the recording, liner notes to each song, perhaps some leftovers from the studio and so on. Now that would've been a reissue worthy of this album.

I never liked the style and presentation Earache chose for the gatefold version of all their MA releases. What's the point of giving a double gatefold one record? It makes half the gatefold completely useless... Just make the album a single sleeve loader, and turn the inner art of the gatefold into a poster. How hard is that.
