Normal wash temps, but the shrinking is caused by the dryer, which I've recently stopped using on new/really worn shirts. Most claim they're pre-shrunk but FOTL always shrinks the worst for me, most brands shrink a little, but FOTL shrinks terribly.

I wash mine cold or at normal temperature (depends). Never shrunk. Maybe you wash them way too hot? (just asking) Some shirts say "preshrunk". Maybe that's one way to go and to make sure they won't shrink after the first washing. Btw, I had a LS by Alstyle. Another not so great brand.

That's odd, every time I buy FOTL they shrink completely retarded. Either they shrink more than a size or they do like my white Bolt Thrower shirt, it's an XL in width but more like a M in height. Totally fucked up - Gildan on the other hand has never had shrinkage problems for me. I'll admit they're thinner. I've never had a Gildan shirt that was over-sized, they've all actually ran a little smaller.

Fruit of the Loom is actually way better imo. Never had any problems with (today's) FOTL. Thicker fabric, nice style and XL is really XL. Gildan, on the other hand, has usually thinner fabric (but they call it "heavy"), XL is way bigger and there is no style. It's just a sad, floppy thing.

You can always do worse than Gildan... say, Fruit of the Loom? hah

I know I'm not up to the standards of some of the greats on here, but I'm just starting out and did a bit more than just lopping off the sleeves; see underneath. Granted, it's not the prettiest thing in the world compared to people with more skill/experience, but to insult the whole term? That was not a fair critique by any standard.

Into the flames with you and your brilliant battle jacket of brutality!! Massacre patch rules! I am really enjoying this one. Another jacket of joy!

Good point - as you can see, cut the sleeves/neck to start. Then, altered the sides and arm cut to make it fit better across my shoulders (I have quite pointy shoulder blades). Took bloody forever with my non-professional manskills! That's why it's a bit more DIY than just my other cutoffs - beforehand, it looked too much like a surcoat/tabard. Sounds a bit pedantic and a lot of effort, but I'm sure you'll appreciate the difference cut across a back can make, especially if you're wearing it under a jacket!
