The Difference between true death and true black is non existant. Dissection called themself "anticosmic METAL of DEATH" and other people label them as black metal. So the argument Breaks. But I see your point, Gore is commonly used in "death metal". :)

Except that I haven't mentioned "TRVE", "necro" or "grim". And the "never play live thing" becomes pathetic When you don't have a Reason. Of course you are supposed to make a black metal crusade. Not sit at home and record a 4 track demo without bass.

Deathcrush must be One of the most brutal albums to This date. And the gory and extreme lyrics work perfectly as a weapon. And all folklore isn't bad, don't mistake me ;) As long as you wanna get somewhere, but Emperor were just copycat. Ulven, Arckanum and other bands write lyrics strongly related to old norse tales and most of it is good.

So what? Ulver's first three albums only deal with dark folklore, Enslaved has always been about Scandinavian history and Burzum's lyrics mostly dealt with forests and mythology. And seriously, if you call Emperors lyrics out to be crap. Have you ever read the lyrics for releases such as Deathcrush and A Blaze in the Norther Sky? Classic yes, but hardly anything stellar.
