I remember how Peter Beste was hot shit when this photo album first came out. So "kvlt-ure."
Yeah, i got into a big argument with the Vice magazine editor Andy Capper (Who openly admitted ripping off pictures from tshirtslayer and modifying them to use in their Vice/Nike promo shit) about how much of a cockhead he is, he reckons he really helps the underground scene, but in actual fact they are just preying on subcultures to further their own corporate agenda and push their diluted version of 'culture' through their shit magazine.
i mean it's awesome peter beste got funding to make this awesome publication happen, but after andy capper admitted ripping off the same scene that he reckons he helps, anything todo with vice is now tainted for ever for me.

Wow. That's awful. With Beste and Vice, I felt like how you put it, "... they are just preying on subcultures to further their own corporate agenda," - and especially- "and push their diluted version of "culture." I felt Beste was out of place because his work seemed so trendy yet it was entirely on an underground art form. It makes me second-think and thrice-think and think yet again about when I'm talking/writing about a culture I am not a part of. I see how people on the outside screw up things like black metal and I wonder, "How much do I twist other cultures I don't have first-hand experience with?"
