It might not be much to look at, as it has a very simple design, but damn is the music fucking good!

One of my favourite bands !! have also this and couple of more master cds but i dont own any master lps :S i also have hoodie and shirt. :D fucking greay band and Lp!!
Thank you fellow headbanger! Haha. This is indeed a great fucking band man, so I'm glad to see some support.
I got this one for a good deal so I'm happy as hell :D

another one from discogs?
great find!
Yep, another one. Haha.
I just finished listening to this, this shit is relentless!
Fucking great!!! Master is another band i really enjoy, and this album surely is no exception!
When i first heard it i was shocked by the sheer amount of sick riffs it contained, i don't know, i was expecting something different and it totally blew me away :)
Another excellent find man, it looks near mint. Five flames for sure!!
Thanks again!
The record itself is definitely near mint. When I played it today it sounded as if it had never been played! I love the riffs as you mentioned, and Speckmann's vocals are sick man. Absolutely the perfect voice for this type of old-school death metal.
I like the whole primitive approach they had for this album. Everything just sounds like one big jam session, which is JUST how I like it. I love albums that sound like this, and hate over-produced plastic crap. The whole album was like a 27 minute assault.
The ending to their self-titled song is the shit too... "wear the Master's crown!... YOU FUCKING WIMPS!"
Hahaha, epic. The first time I heard that I knew I had to have the album :D
Hell yeah!! That honest, simple and "intimate" production is fucking incredible! Production is such an important part in an album, it may be one of the reasons i mostly like old stuff, the way they engineered music back then was way better than what many do today, with those über-clean, plastic works you rightfully despise :)
I agree 100%
To me, production is almost as important as the music itself. It can make or ruin ANY album. That's why I respect any new bands that take the old-school sound seriously and make the albums the RIGHT way (regardless of whether I like their music or not).
I remember the first time I heard my favorite album, Under the Sign of Hell... you can hear Grim's drumsticks when they are put down at the end of songs. That might not sound like a big deal but it definitely made a huge impact on me. I felt like I was part of the recording process or something, haha. That sounds ridiculous, I know, but I just loved attitude they had back then. It's like... "were here, were going to record, and get the fuck out of here."
To this day, the original Under the Sign of Hell recording is tops for me. I don't think there will ever be a better album recorded, ever. That album is intense right down to the detailed dick!
Hahaha exactly!!
I remember Under The Sign Of Hell was the first BM album i ever heard properly (first i had listened to some Mayhem songs, but no complete album) and the first hearing was like entering a whole new world. Now that i look back i think it was a very lucky thing cause it has the quitessential BM production, with that superb raw tone of the guitars and the unorthodox sound of the drums.
Yeah, it gives you the sensation that they just had a limited amount of time to spend on the studio, and goddammit they sure did get the best out of it!
I need to put my finances in order an finally buy the old Malicious CD of this glorious album haha.
Personally I wouldn't know what to do with myself without my first press Under the Sign of Hell LP. I have one of the re-issue CDs, but without that particular vinyl I am nobody.
I have some rare and expensive shit, but I would rather give all of that up and keep my one Under the Sign of Hell LP if I had to. That's how much I love that album. It sounds crazy, but it's like channeling hell itself every time I play it, what a rush!
Needless to say, it might not be the rarest or most expensive in my collection, but it's the one closest to my heart.
I know what you mean, there's always THAT album that is just special.
I kinda feel the same about Storm's masterpiece, i'm pretty sure it is my most cherished belonging, just a simple first press, nothing too fancy or expensive, but damn i love it.
