More Arcturus vinyl for your "viewing pleasure." This time it's La Masquerade Infernale. Their second full-length, and my favorite of their albums. A fucking masterpiece I tells ya'!
I'm not sure how limited these were when printed in 97, but I can't imagine that there were many of these, I highly doubt it.
Anyway, this album involves so many instruments (aside from typical metal instruments) that it's just ridiculous (Cornet, Flute, Double Bass, Violin, Viola, and Cello). It's definitely an album you have to listen to closely.

That is truly impressive. First of all, DAMN that is a gorgeous edition!!! All the layout and pictures are awesome, creating an aesthetic presentation that's very consistent with the music.
And of course there's the music itself, awesome and always surprising, you're totally right when you say that it needs to be listened closely, it is full of details you'd miss if you don't pay enough attention.
Even though i favor their first effort a bit more than this, it deserves five fucking flames too.
PS: This specific edition was released by Music For Nations back in the day, am i right??

I agree with a very good point you made about the presentation and artwork. It fits and represents the music so well, unlike any other record I believe. It has that whole "Satan's Masquerade" eerie and mysterious feeling to it. Thanks for the support dude! \\m//
Beautiful. I believe this was limited to 1000 copies, though I could be wrong... How much did you pay? I was going through my friends collection just last week and I saw he had this. I offered him 100$ but he declined. So sad.
I may have overpaid a little... but I thought it was worth it because this copy is in mint condition, both vinyl and cover. I paid $200 + $15 shipping.
My guess was also 1,000 copies, but it's hard to be sure.

I'm not really sure if I'd sell my dick for it, but maybe I'd cut off a finger or something. Worst case scenario... a testicle (at least I'd have a spare). Haha.
But yeah to answer your question I see it around every once in a while, and it has crossed my mind to buy it, but I haven't for one reason or another (sometimes because of money, other times because I've bought something else). One of the best places to keep an eye open for that one is a site called Todeslaut (I like to pronounce it toad slut, for some reason). They get it once in a while, and they sell it for a great deal, they are real fans and don't like to rip people off. They even sent me a free Armagedda LP with an order once! I believe it was for the Borknagar S/T vinyl!
Right now I can't afford crap man so if I see it I'll let you know. I spend almost all of my money on records so I'm always in a corner. I bought Mare's "Spheres Like Death" on vinyl yesterday, I'm waiting for the store to ship it. Mare is a sweet new Norwegian BM band. Them and One Tail, One Head are just fantastic bands of the newer scene. Too bad all they have released so far are fucking EPs.
