nice man sick vest! teaching your kid the ways!

samsonthrash

this is good parenting right here.

metallicane

This is so awesome. I love it. And I love the attention to detail on the AJFA patch (stitching). Classy! And dad's got some old school kicks! DEFINITE 5 FLAMES!!

5
mayhempunk666

hells yes.....its good to see metal being passed down from father to son

5
ShieldbitersValhalla

The smallest battle jacket I've ever seen! Have a very merry metal posterity! 5 flames!

5
DoctorDeath

cute!!!

5
metallicane

Looks like he's having fun with Metallica and Anthrax. He's got room to grow and room for more patches. He's ahead of me, that's for sure. I don't even have a jacket/vest yet. I'm still in the patch collecting stage.

5
Rotten

And this vest is already a little tight on him - ive been looking around for one that a couple sizes bigger cos he'll grow out of this one in no time.

5
Rotten

Hes only 8 and i think some subjects are a little to 'heavy' for a 8 year old to listen to. He loves old Metallica (AJFA and earlier), Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest etc ... Thats why his vest is leaning towards those bands.

5
Maddolis

8 years old?
Christ, that's awesome!
Absolutely adore this pic!

5
metallicane

Ahhh you're gonna have to do that lovely white stitching all over again! ps - I LOVE the Metallica vs Megadeth combo you two have there. A clash of the titans!

5
Rotten

HA! The reason why the AJFA patch looks so well stitched is cos i didnt do it - im a butcher when i put my patches on. A friend of mine sewed a few of my kids patches on the vest.

5
metallicane

Then you'll have to do it in black or get that friend to redo it when he keeps growing! That could literally turn out to be a perpetual work in progress for another decade.

5
Metaalharses

Cool beans man, I hope in 8 years time I can take MY kid to his first metal show. he's just 4 months now so maybe he'll grow up quick.. I'll be sure to teach him the classics :)

5/5

5
Headbanger_

Your son´s kutte is awesome \m/

5
diamondmaster93

Give this man the father of the year award right now!

5
mountain6king

i love it,i don't have a kid yet,but i will definitly teach him all the classics, when he arrives

hammer slammer

wow, thats the best parenting i have ever seen.

whiteravenmetal

The clarivoyant patch of your son is awesome. Ant the picture is killer!! 5 flames!!

5
HeathenThrone

I think this is a great pic! And it's cool that you an your son share that in common. My dad is ignorant and has no respect for metal nor me liking it. He just dosent get it. You seem to get it, and props for not letting your kid get too into the "heavy" subject matter too early. Honestly I think bands like Metallica can be "family friendly" I mean they arent gonna say anything you wouldent hear in a pg-13 or even pg movie. And good idea watching out for the hearing. Your a good dad!

Rotten

I hear ya man ... my dad also didn't and doesn't get it. But then again, my dad has no interest in music whats so ever. I know hes still young and i do send him to a private/catholic school. Ok, i dont believe with a lot of what the religion is about but the morals is whats important to me. I think letting him listen to music like Slayer or Possessed isnt good for a mind thats still so young. I know that he doesnt understand 99% of what they are singing about but if its blatantly about satan or killing people etc - its not good for a child. Im just glad he had fun. Our next gig together will be Iron Maiden next February which both of us a psyched for. Thank you for your kind words brother \m/

5
ManOboy

i come from a muslim family, and i found metal a very young age. And i mean my dad fuckin hates the music i listne to, my mom loves some of it (priest, metallica, maiden, ext). Im glad my mom and grandma are on my side ( my grandma is so fuckin cool btw she went to motorhead with me). And im teaching my little 2 year old sister the roots. She loves it when im blastin venom or like sepultura in the car. Its not brainwashing per-say, and nor do i think any of the music is scary, but i can see where you come from by not letting your kis listne to the heavier stuff just yet.

Rotten

Im sure he'll discover it in due time but just now i think hes a little too young for it. Hes seen all my Slayer, Venom etc etc etc LPs and he knows he cant listen to them and he knows about my death and black metal records also and he knows they are off limits. But he does have is own little collection happening. Hes got his own Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath etc LPs and hes happy listening to them.

5
memo

That was just what my mother said.

SHe made me go to church school every SATURDAY MORNING. you know what it means to a kid? MORNING CARTOONS, and they were the coolest cartoons, some anime too.

I grew up now, and im a church hater, i whish all of them burn in hell, and the priest get aids and die. ALso, im not satanic, im just anti religion.

Really, no kid should be pushed to some crazy religion at that age, they should make their own mind and choose what they want.

Thrashocutionist

That's like me and when I have a kid!
I can understand you don't want him getting into the other stuff yet. If you aren't in your teen years it may be a little soon.
I mean, you can't jump to cannibal corpse and venom at once. You have to start off with Judas Priest, Maiden and Sabbath. Get your ears adjusted. Then move on to like Metallica, Megadeth and Motorhead. Then Carnivore, Kreator, Nuclear Assault .ect
Yeah, get that boy some white hightops man!
And a bigger vest to transfer patches to when he gets bigger!

ManOboy

yea i can respect that. But why are your slayer LP's off limits if you dont mind me askin. Show no mercy isnt really a totally satanic album

uitSCHOT-NL

lookse awesome, but your son's jacket looks too new
put him in a moshpit, that will make it look better :P

motorheadslayer

I'm into some confusion, my house is like in a dictatorship, my mum dosn't like any of my metal shirts(especially my Pantera Vulger display of power shirt). but i would like to wear a battle jacket so it shows people that i like metal. but my dad likes motorhead, some maiden and priest. i'm not sure to get a vest and sew patches with my favorite bands on incase my mum flips. please help on how to get around.

5
Maddolis

Convince your mum that heavy metal music is something you're passionate about and hopefully she'll respect that.

5
motorheadslayer

she does, because her brother likes Metallica and Scorpians (if you count them), everyone (exept my dad) are catholics but i blast Venom's Welcome To Hell from my radio, it's just the look she dosn't like. Also my English teacher talked to me about metal because i wore my slayer shirt to one lesson, next day mu Motorhead shirt.

5
dial-a-death

My mum hates the fact that half my wardrobe is black and has band logos on it. I'm making a kutte now, but I'm at uni, o god knows what she'll say when she sees it. Or when I raid her sewing kit...
She doesn't like metal much, but she loves Queen etc and doesn't mind Thunder or some Maiden like The Clairvoyant, so hopefully she'll be cool with it as I have a Queen, Thunder, Van Halen, Whitesnake etc.
Odly though, she doesn't mind my green Airbourne shirt with a naked lady on it, because it's not black.

maggot26

Awesome pic! 5/5 I like both vests and i hope to be a father just like you, hehe[i`m just 17 now,i hope it won`t happen too soon] :))

5
Metaalharses

Tricky situation Motorheadslayer, this is a good time for that father-son male bonding thing, he likes motorhead you like metallica and so on. Explain your dilemma to your dad as he's married (or in some form of a relationship) with your mum and they love each other and so on. He can then talk it over with your mum and that could open up some possibillties.

long story short, involve both your mum and your dad, as your dad understands you and your mum so he could play a big role in solving your dilemma. and of course what maddolis says is a good idea to add :)

5
motorheadslayer

Also i'm not the most confident person, when i brought my studded wrist band, my friends just laughed at me. Theres no metal in britain anymore, theres a lot in the States but not here.

5
Metaalharses

non-sense you have know where to look.. there are more then enough metals..

5
hammer slammer

there is, you just need to know where to look. i live in an industrial shithole in the north-east and i know plenty of metalheads, thrashers, punks and crusties. there will definately be some near you, you just need to look out for them :)

Maddolis

I support you dressing the part to show your affection for metal, but honestly studded wrist bands look silly on kids.

5
Metaalharses

lets be honest, they look silly on everyone

5
CryptKeeper

The ones with the killer studs really do! The ones with small round studs can look cool if they fit to the rest.

5
Rotten

Hey motorheadslayer - harden the fuck up buddy!

"when i brought my studded wrist band, my friends just laughed at me" - tell them to go fuck themselves!

Being 'metal' isnt about being accepted by anyone but yourself. If you want peoples approval about listening to music in general then jump on the band-wagon and listen to commercial radio and ditch everything metal you have cos its scenesters like you are what 'true' metalheads fuckin hate ...

Basically dude, fuckin' grow a pair!

5
overkill386

simple! just say : well atleast i have the fuckin balls to wear it bitch and i dont go lauging at shit my brain will never understand.

dial-a-death

Go to Bloodstock Open Air. 12000 metalheads of all ages (seriously, I saw toddlers ther last year). As you start to get near it, half the people on public transport are wearing kuttes, studs, leather, boots, and lots of black. Best festival in the UK, Immortal headlining next year :D

whiteravenmetal

fuck them, just hear what you like and don't give a shit about them. my mom was similar to your mom, but I hear to much Metal all the time that she learns to live with that, still don't like it, but I don't care. Fuck 'em all!!

5
TerrorZone

hehe, my mom really friggin hates metal and my shirts/kutte also. my dad doesn't gives a fuck =P he actually gave some awesome EP's and CD's :D and really fucking awesome picture dude! 5 fuckin flames!

5
jeremybassmetal

Bloodstock looks so awsome man,and this picture is pretty sick!

Deathcore.Is.Not.Metal.

Who didn't give this 5 flames?

5
DoctorDeath

Might change it so if you vote, you have to comment :D

5
Metaalharses

not a bad idea

ah well, atleast he and my mom got me into metal haha :)

Daimonion

5 flames!

I hope my son (8 weeks old) will become a metalhead too.

5
young_metalhead97

Pure awesomeness!! Damn, I wish my father let me do that

5
Congelamento

It's a shame the vest is that small... Should be a Large or XL so he could grow into it :D But that is fucking good parenting man! Your kid just need the hair, and the next generation is prepared :)

5
magenetica

Someone knows where you can get the nuclear assault patch? (globe)

Flammenkanonier

after proxima centauri rightwards, there is a little shop on a planet that looks like the patch!

5
young_metalhead97

This is a good way to teach your kids to listen to real music. Parents today don't care about what their kids is listening to... Justin Bieber... love songs by little kids... Wtf?!

5
Kaza

This is adorable.

5
lambofgodfan00

This is so awesome. That is so cool on so many levels. Love seeing stuff like this, parents taking their kids to rock/metal/punk shows. Exposing them to good music.

5
crooked_cross666

thats rad dude!your son looks like hes gonna shape up to be a real metalhead.(by the way love the nuclear assualt handle with care patch!) thats what me and my dad look like at metal shows except we both have long hair=P what concert was it?how old is your son?

5
Rotten

Its was Metallica last October in Sydney. Jnr is 8 yrs old.

5
crooked_cross666

8yrs at metallica?!?! mad props dude i didnt see my first concert till i was 14 and that was iron maiden. hes gonna turn out to be a fine metalhead one day! great parenting dude good luck to your son on the path to becoming a metalhead \m/

5
Rotten

Took my kid to see Maiden in February - that was his 2nd gig.

5
crooked_cross666

final frontier tour? cause thats the one they were on when i saw them

5
Rotten

Yeah, the last/current tour they are on. He had fun but was unfamiliar with a lot of the material because I only listen to Maiden up to SSOASS. Im kicking myself i didn’t take him to the Somewhere Back In Time tour. I had 18 corporate box seat tickets and I could have taken him but I just thought that taking him to the gig at the age of 5 was a bit too young.

5
crooked_cross666

yeah sorta young to go to maiden seventh son of a seventh son is a pretty good album and a few things after that were good but there older stuff is better in my opinion

5
Rotten

I dont think Maiden did a thing wrong up to SSOASS. Every album is solid and brilliant. Fear of the Dark was alright. No Prayer was average and after that they just got ... boring.

5
crooked_cross666

sorta yeah but i still think they're fucking legendary

5
Rotten

Oh, no doubt \m/

Well LEARN THEM!!

SPAZZTIC BLURR

5
BabyEviscerator

Dude, I love your kid and his vest. That is damn good parenting. 5 flames man, you deserve it. Is Maiden, Anthrax and Metallica the only patches on his vest?

5
Rotten

On the front he has Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin patches, as well as more Maiden and Metallica patches, and buttons of Black Sabbath, Over Kill, Metallica, Municipal Waste

5
BabyEviscerator

Thats pretty badass, where do you buy his patches? Online or at a store?

5
Rotten

Both. I usually find a few patches he might like and ask which he wants.

5
krustomizer

wish you were my dad :-)

5

OH MAN SO AWESOME! 5 FLAMES FOR YOU METALDAD!

5

GREXUMER

I'll raise my children that way! congratulations!

I wish my parents were metalheads (or at least, rockers). Now, I'm 19 and there's no problem with my passion in Metal, but in my early years (when I was 14-15) they were REALLY scarred and a little dissapointed. I had to show them that the love I have to Heavy Metal Music is something that I cannot describe. Later, they saw that I was being myself, and they began to support me. Besides, my mom has helped me when I don't have enough money to buy a gig ticket (in Metallica's one she paid all the ticket even though it was in her birthday, I still have that debt with her).

You're doing well with your son, and I'm gonna say it again: I'll raise my children that way!

There's many who tried to prove that they're faster, but rhey didn't last and they died as they tried!

5
Rotten

Thanx babe. My parents weren’t rockers or metalheads and had no passion or love for any kind of music. Luckily, I had older cousins are who got me into hard rock and metal at a very VERY early age and like yourself, that freaked my folks out. Still to this day they don’t get it but they know that there's really nothing they can do about it.
My son likes metal because he can see how much it means to me. But im sure that will all change once he begins high school and develops a passion for whatever will interest him. My ex (his mum) isn’t into metal and has other musical tastes. Even myself, I don’t only listen to metal - music is an amazing thing and you shouldn’t pigeon-hole yourself into on genre.

5
SPILIOS-1986

HEY DAD WHERE WERE YOU IN 1986?
WHAT WAS YOUR IMPRESSION ON "MASTER OF PUPPETS"?
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CONCERT?

BE PROUD OF YOUR SON MY FRIEND, A LOT OF US ARE VERY JEALOUS OF YOU BELIEVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rotten

1986? Dude, i cant remember last week. HA! I was still in primary school dude but i do remember hearing MoP only a few weeks after it was released because my cousins that got me into metal had a copy. Like everyone else, i was blown away by it. I remember hearing Anthrax - Spreading the Disease that same day. First concert? I was just in high school. It was just a bunch of local metal bands playing an all ages gig. It would have been the end of 89/90.

Thanx man \m/

dude thats awesome! how old's your son. my dad is taking me to my first concert next february. metallica, slayer and anthrax!

Rotten

Cheers man. My son is 10 now but he was 8 when this was taken. So I take it you're heading to Soundwave? I’m going too. I was thinking about taking my son but I thought it might be all a bit much for him. It’s a long and hectic day. Ill take him to the Anthrax and Dragonforce (he loves them) sideshows though. I bought us tickets to see Suicidal Tendencies in December also. And last night Black Sabbath Australian tour announced so ill grab us tickets to that too. And from what ive heard, next year AC/DC (40th Anniversary), Iron Maiden and Van Halen are all touring too - 2013 is looking like a killer year for gigs.

5
metalbass97

oh yeah, heard about Sabbath will go to them if its not too much money for tickets, and ive always wanted to see the other 3 bands!. thats cool that he is into metal now and not going into the mainstream pop music.yes i am going to soundwave, went last year, but ya know, too many "new" bands. yeah, soundwave is pretty scary i thought lol. maybe in 1 or two years. anthrax one of my fav thrash, if not any bands ever!

Rotten

Im estimating they'll go for $150+. Of those 3 other bands the only one i havent seen in Van Halen. I could have seen them as Van Hagar a few years back but that was never Van Halen to me so i didnt go. Sounwave was never a 'metal' festival. It was more alternative. Its only the recent years that they've added more metal acts to the festival.

5
metalbass97

oh really? well thats good. this year has one of best lineups then. what the hell is van hagar?? haha never heard of it?

Rotten

Van Halen but with Sammy Hagar on vocals

5
metalbass97

right, well i see why you didnt want to haha

you should've told me earlier. i was at the store i got it last week and they still had some. i cant find it anywhere online (actualy i did, but is was sold already). worst part was that i actualy considered buying another one since quite some people realy like it and tought i could help someone out. sorry.

Same story with my Black Funeral shirt. How come so few people seems to like this awesome band?

  • 6 min 51 sec ago

Yea, I heard Cort do decent guitars (it depends though) and they gathered a lot of knowledge, since they made guitars for other manufacturers in the past. So at a certain point, they started their own business. Wouldn't order one online, but I'd give it a try when I see one in a guitar shop. Always curious about other brands and how they feel.   Btw, oil that fretboard, Doc. Maybe it's just the flash, but it looks very dry to me. (Some use Dunlop Lemon Oil. I say, use Ballistol.
