They're a kick ass band that never really got the recognition they deserved, i wish they would get back together again...
I got 2 months ago the vinyl edition of Darkess Descends, it's a double edition made by Back in Black recods, and it sounds absolutly stunning, to me that album is one of the few thrash albuns that can match the intensity of reign in blood by Slayer, another one is Eternal Nightmare by Vio-lence for instance.
totally in agreement about 'Darkness Descends'...that one and 'Leave Scars' both did a lot to define sinister thrash in those days.
Yes they did, too bad that in the early/mid 90's all those bands that had lower profiles suffered immensely from the fact that their labels were leaving them, since thrash's visibility and audience was decreasing...and acording to MTV, grunge was the new Metal....yeah, right we all know how well that turned out on the long run....screw mtv, i still remember when they canceled Headbangres ball, that awesome show with Vanessa Warwick hosting it.
It sounds like you're ripping off wikipedia and the Encyclopedia Metallum forum posts to make people think you know a lot about metal/impress them.

it might sound to you, but all things i write are just personal opinions and nothing more than that! plus stuff i learned over the years from reading magazines, reading books, seeing documentaries,listening to Metal etc...
I guess you must be an english teacher in order to give me that boring speech about how i sonund and what not...English is not my first language, so if my sentences lack what you call "grammar and sentence structure" i really don't care as long my opinion gets understood by other people...You don't have to comment if you don't want to, very unimpressive to go critizing other peoples way of beeing, beacause if i broke some rule, there are another ways to say it!

A Dark Angel reunion would be so awesome! It's just a shame that it probably won't ever happen unless they track down Doty (wherever the hell he is) since Rineheart isn't able to sing anymore :(

From what i read on the web, Ron Rineheart had a very serious accident, so he's out for good from the DA's reunion,if there ever will be one, wich i doubt because Gene Hoglan is playing now with Fear Factory, but who know's...
Gene seems to have a way of making time for multiple projects. Have you checked out Tenet? A couple songs from Sovereign remind me of Dark Angel, but with Souza on vocals :)
Tenet i know, their album is great, with a very good line up of musicians!

Dark Angel was legendary, yes...and I admit that I really didn't check out the Dreams Of Damnation stuff that Jim Durkin was involved in...but Oil? : \

I have listened to a little bit of Oil, plan on eventually buying the Refine album. Sounds to me like Time Does Not Heal but much slower and less technical. Still decent though. Need to check out Dreams of Damnation!
