The most widely known self-demise in black metal, but don't forget about others... Erik from Immortal/Borknagar/Gorgoroth, Jon from Dissection, Tchort from Winds of the Black Mountains. There is probably more. R. I. P.
Food for thought:
People I've spoken to think that a photo like this would've met Dead's approval and morbid sense of humor. But isn't it ironic that despite his deep anti-trend attitude when it comes to metal (as can be seen from his interviews and letters), this image of Dead is so frequently reproduced and printed in so many forms that it may even qualify as a trend by now.
That's why I keep this for particular occasions and don't wear it very often, only when the mood really calls for it - cause I don't want to get used and immune to this image, the element of otherness and shock and even morbid wonder should always be there; otherwise getting desensitized will lead to treating this item like any wearable trend.

Great shirt.Actually I have almost the same one,it's a re-print version.Plus I have a really large patch of the frontprint :)
Profanum said: Still love that DT patch. Even though parts of to got covered by other patches. Love most of the bands on this vest, specially the Power Metal ones. Hope to see if you do another vest seeing as this might remain like this according to the description.
Ravishing Grimness said: Thanks :) Cool!Yeah, think Hypocrisy most definitely is one of the first of those bands from Sweden who put a stamp on the sound for what it is today.Actually they started a whole complete revolution in exploring the boundaries of Swedish DM.Peter is just a genius, and all of his projects (Pain,The Abyss) have always been a great success.
Blüdrayne said: thanks. I'm not so much worried about UV protection as I am about the ability to resist peeling... I'll try with nail polish and hope it works.

lak89 said: I just looked that up on google and the spray and the acrylic paint both have UV resisting functions, but if nail polish does you fine then you might as well just stick to it.

You forgot Quorthon in the description :/ But prety cool backpatch man,and i totally agree with you about how treny this(and other things) are becoming
You also forget Euronymous too and i see you started your battle jacket cool. say do you live in the United States?
But Euronymous and Quorthon didn't commit suicide, I was only counting those latter cases.
The backpatch is riding on my old denim longsleeve jacket that I've had for many years and which I'll probably keep as it is, my hand doesn't lift to cut off its sleeves. Still planning to make a vest and hope to find one without the chest pockets to make that area easier to patch up. Already began getting patches for it, but this backpatch will stay on the current jacket. The problem with having several backpatches is having to choose just one for the battle vest. But time will tell, I've already discovered that trying to plan a patch vest layout before getting the patches is futile, as their real-life sizings will be inevitably different than expected and the nice symmetries you envision in the mind wouldn't work like that in real life, forcing one to work on a different layout - but that's part of the fun! For now I'm concentrating on getting the front patches gradually, the layout on the back would depend upon the vest's specifics though I have an idea of what I want. Yeah my fam's in the US now but I alternate between here and Iceland.
I have a patch of Euronymous and Dead together with the morbid logo AND mayhem logo. And on the bottom it says "A tribute to the black emporers"!
Yep, the famous split bootleg album cover. Upload it dude!
After this entry appeared in the 'random item' on the left, I re-read your description really closely and I must say i really appreciate the (for lack of better words) 'relationship' you have this with patch..
There are trends everywhere. Even in the most underground of the underground scenes. Some people just fail too see it in favour of being anti everything.
Cool backpatch Dude, never been a huge fan of Dead, but this is nice.
