I normally wear tight jeans, a band t-shirt and my vest. I don't really care about fashion. I'll wear whatever I think looks nice. Don't give a fuck about what he thinks, and wear what you want to wear. If he thinks that you dress like a metal dude, it's his problem. Not yours.
Wear what suits your taste. If your boyfriend has a problem with what you wear, and it's just regular fare, then his input is invalid. Style is not a serious issue unless you're wearing dirty clothes or not wearing underwear when you have on a short dress/skirt and flashing people. Then I could see why he's want to to wear something else.

Whatever the fuck she wants. I have never seen a girl in a gig turn up without trying to look pretty and 'metal' and I think it's disgraceful. I am tiny underneath my massive leather jacket, combats, boots and battle jacket and I mosh like a fucking beast but when the time is right I can be a lady (though no one would EVER think it on a normal day!) fuck trying to be pretty and sexy, that is for at home when you're in housewife mode. Besides, your boyfriend should be proud you don't need to conform like so many 'metal' girls. If your boyfriend don't like it, don't change yourself to suit him because you'll regret it. I disagree with that latter bit. Girls would likely have differing responses than guys on this topic as it would be a more personal issue. That's why most girls responded with examples of what they wear. It's to give you options and an example of what a metal chick might wear. It's more directly answering your question than most dude responses, but maybe you decided you didn't want examples anymore, but fuel to just keep on wearing what you do now.

Above all, you should wear what you're comfortable with, but if you want to compromise with what your boyfriend likes, you could try to dress a little more "feminine." With some clothes that are figure flattering, maybe a skirt instead of pants sometimes, etc. If you do this, please at least remember to wear enough clothes. Too many women who are into metal resort to wearing almost nothing in an attempt to look more feminine, but they just end up looking naked and/or cheap.
I actually took an old denim skirt and painted logos and put buttons of bands I like on it, and wore those stretchy legging things under it. That works pretty well.
Just wear whatever the fuck you like to wear and don't let it depend on other people's opinion!
To speak for myself,I usually just wear skinny jeans,a band t-shirt,a leather jacket and possibly my vest.Not the most feminine looking girl to imagine,but I do like to wear high heels now and then and I sew my too big shirts to a proper size so it doesn't really look too baggy for me.

I've customed a few epic shirts because they were XLs and I wear a small... the guilt was incredible... one was an '89 Dr. Feelgood tour shirt... lucky all turned out well :)
