Do any of you collect anything else other then heavy metal/rock/punk related items? For instence, i collect world war 1 and 2 memrabellia, comic books, movies(vhs, dvd, blu ray), movie posters.
Stickers
Used to collect bouncy balls had well over 200 at one stage but got rid of em
Used to collect keys had 100s
Collect car badges (No I don't steal them!)
You mean other than music related items? Well I do buy every book I can find from a Finnish author called Esa Anttala. He writes war literature and has fought in Finnish continuation war himself. I also have many books about old Finnish pagan beliefs and traditions. Not sure if you'd call that collecting.
Elephants (statues - don't have enough space for real live ones), belt-buckles, ethnic wooden masks - mainly from Africa and Asia, old rusty tools like axes and sickles, used to collect swords\bayonets\knives.
I've started collecting things related to aggressive inline. I have an old pair of some extremely popular skates from the 90's (Salomon skates, for those who were curious) that I'm "restoring." It's impossible to take out the scuffs and shit but it's been pretty easy finding older parts that are in really good condition.
I've also taken to collecting watches and I'm really interested to see if there are any heavy metal related watches in existence, particularly with a pentagram in the face.
They look really cool, thanks!! I'm not in it for the monetary value (college is killing my bank account), I'm more interested in just cool looking watches.
I can't bring myself to collect anything, I start feeling like a hoarder when it starts getting too much; even my music collection I start feeling like I need to get rid of stuff I rarely listen to or don't fully enjoy, or shirts I don't wear much. I think its cool when people collect things they like, and seeing peoples' collections is cool but I personally couldn't do it.
My favorite thing to do is to come up with a creative storage/display solution. Similar to how people will frame vinyl records for display, it would be pretty cool to make some metal-as-fuck display cases. That way, even though you don't listen to those CD's (I'm assuming that's what you meant), they can still be a part of you without cluttering your life.
It just occurred to me I may be a metal Martha Stewart...
Used to collect sports memorabilia, mainly baseball...fuck my collection must be worth $1,000s now. Some of the signatures I have though I'll never part ways with like Bob Feller (fastest pitcher in the world, Cleveland Indians) and Ron Santo (Chicago Cubs). Both couldn't have been nicer and both are sadly no longer with us. I also have signatures from Rollie Fingers, Orlando Cepeda, Fergie Jenkins, Pete Rose...met all of them.
I used to collect comics for a long time but got rid of my huge collection and only kept my favs. The only things I still collect are cross pendants/rosaries.
Collecting crosses is neat. I have a few myself. I purchased one in Mexico carved out of shark bone 15 years ago. The cross is a powerful meaningful symbol!
I collect books, mainly old prints of sci-fi/horror/thriller novels with cheesy paintings for covers (Stephen King, HP Lovecraft, Peter Straub, Clive Barker, etc). Other than that, I always keep one bottle cap of each beer I try as documentation of my quest to become a Beerkemon master. Gotta drink 'em all! Everything else is music related (when I'm not buying metal/punk stuff, I'm buying post-rock, IDM, neofolk and jazz records).
I'll take some photos of my collection and upload it here, hahah. One of my Lovecraft books has a chunk of the painting used in Obituary's Cause of Death.
Beer bottle caps, hell yes! I do the same thing.
When i was younger i used to collect car magazines and diecast car models, but somehow lost interest some years ago.
i personaly use old Pringles cans for that, its easier with the bigger opening and all. but i admit the cap of a soda bottle is better secured in case it falls...
I don't really "collect" it, but I have some Johnny Cash CDs and one LP for example, totally love his music.
Because of my studies I also collect history books, mainly global history, russian/soviet history and chinese history as well as anything regarding biopolitics and eugenics
Oh, I also collect ball pens everytime I'm on a conference. But I prefer mass before class since I'm always loosing them XD
Tons of VHS. Horror mostly. I'm not as crazy about it as one of my friends is though. I have a few different cover variations of some movies but not that many.
collecting stuff beside music-related?..haha...no money left for other stuff...sorry...i just collect metal-related stuff (CDs, Vinyl, Poster, Shirts, Promos, Promo-gimicks like pen, mouspads, lighters etc, DVDs, Books..and so on..but all are metal-related)

He had a few OG german m35 helmets but wanted like $1400 for one :\, he also had a few og ss officer visor caps, also very expencive. I have a few replica german garrison flags, battle flags, ect, and some soviet officer hats from that era.
