Hey guys I have a few shirts I am thinking of cutting into back patches and what not. I have read on the net about iron on transfers but is it possible to just stitch t shirt fabric to denim or leather jackets? If anyone could help out would be great. Cheers guys

Absolutely! Check out my Salem's Pot BP on my battle jacket. That was a t-shirt. I don't own a serger, so I cut it out, folded in the excess to get the exact shape I wanted, then sewed it directly onto the jacket with a straight stitch. If I ever take it off (highly unlikely, but ya never know!), I can reshape it to fit another jacket. Always leave lots of space around what you're cutting out if you do it this way. If you don't have the sewing skills, you might just want to draw up the desired measurements and take it to someone with a serger. That will cut all the excess off as it sews so that the edges don't fray. Then you can sew it (or have it sewn) onto your denim or leather. Either way you go, you'll preserve the integrity of the piece. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice the back patch looks sick I think it's worth a try. Il give the straight stitch a go if it turns to shit il find someone with greater skills than myself. Thanks for your help. Your jacket has some pretty sweet patches

Yeah done the same way, ok my mom did it, as Bayernpirat some years ago with my Omen bp. Put vlieseline (not sure about the english word) on the back to stiffin it. Then cut it out and sticht a border on the sides so it won't rip and tear. Gonna do it the same way with my Sloug Feg shirt, but for a stripe patch.
