Yeah, I'm also into some old school rap/hip-hop. Finnish Beastie Boys ripoff from the eighties: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm9cxIii5Hg
iambadcompany on
Wtf? Lol
ToxikAssault on
Haha, exactly! I bought this album couple of years ago from a flea market. I just had to buy it, hilarious stuff!

//Ok this is maybe hip hop and not rap.
NekroDesekrator666 on
I always thought that hip hop and rap is the same... But who cares
Jimmh on
Yeah I don't know either how it is.
NekroDesekrator666 on
It's like thrash and speed metal, people tell me there is a diffrence but it's just the same for me
meaningless on
i think, Thrash is a bit more aggressive.
for example: Between RISK (speed metal) and ..lets say old Kreator (thrash metal) -> there is a big difference - imo :)
Blüdrayne on
i'm not sure, and i never knew the difference. i guess maybe hip hop is more beat oriented and focused on the skill of the DJ, while rap is more vocal oriented? tbh, nowadays there isnt much of a distinction. maybe back in the 80s i guess...
Slaughter Lord on
Hiphop is the culture AND the music, Rap is just the vocals.
Blüdrayne on
...are you talking about the 5 elements of hip hop?
Slaughter Lord on
Yeah, I think thats how they are called in english.
Blüdrayne on
you mean rap, bboying, graffiti, turntabling and i dont remember the last one? if so, yeah. thats it.
Slaughter Lord on
Some say beatboxing is nr. 5 but mostly people I know talk about 4 Elements.
Blüdrayne on
lol i dont rmb this anymore dude... i left this all behind for metal instead.
Slaughter Lord on
Haha, thats ok. I got first into Metal and then into all other music, Punk and Rap mainly. But since I'm not really interested in Hiphop culture itself, only in the music I never cared about those elements much.
Thrash attacker on
beastie boys, N.W.A (with ice cube, because after that they sucks because they started to rap for the cash and not for their culture and value) and puplic enemy are cool too!
blackstar1965 on
Check out Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff - "I'm the Rapper, He's the DJ", great album.
TThrasher on
Rap/hiphop is a form of music i can't enjoy. Although i might like some stuff from the Beastie Boys.
maidenregina on
I like Beastie Boys, but they're the only rap I've ever really listened to
NekroDesekrator666 on
Old school rap is fucking awesome
CxMxD on
yeah, oldschool rap has an awesome groove, sort of like old aggressive slipknot, or pantera, but in its own way. the combination of its groove, and aggressiveness/violence is what i really like about it.
my favorites are Easy-E ,N.W.A , Dr Dre was still cool when he was in N.W.A, then he got all rich and shit.In the 90's you would see picutres of them with bandanas and ak-47's, but then when rap became so over produced, thats when people started standing in front of big houses, and extremely hot "bitchez" (excuse me) , the only way i ever listened to beastie boys, was on this New york hardcore compilation when they were punk.
Blüdrayne on
i actually used to bboy when i was younger lol. i used to listen to a lot of this kinda stuff. eric B. & Rakim was the shit. And DJ Kool with that song... let me clear my throat. good times...
meaningless on
hm...very old Dr.Dre stuff isnt that bad. I still like the first 2 House of Pain-albums.
Funkdoobiest are also pretty nice imo ->

Jurrasic 5 are also very nice ->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeN9c2GYJkk
(not sure if its 'old enough' for u..haha)
old Insane Clown Posse - i like em :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hyMG3b05u0
Blüdrayne on
jurassic 5 are one of the "better" modern hip hop artistes. they really have skill when it comes to production. they're kinda like the public enemy of our day, production wise.
NocturnalOccultist on
old school is better than underground rap in my opinion!
Blüdrayne on
...and both (and pretty much most things) are way better than the mainstream shit they call rap. lil' wayne shouldnt be allowed in a recording studio, imo.
bayernpirat on
Public Enemy, Body Count & some Cypress Hill
Claudandus on
Don't know how old school this is. Not that vel versed in rap history, but I quite like Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks.
Blüdrayne on
it's quite modern, but still pretty good. the production and flow is noticeably different though... old school rap is generally more minimalist...
Slaughter Lord on
I quite like Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks. [2]
inqustr on
There is a lot of good german Old School-Rap in my opinion too, Taktloss for example.
Slaughter Lord on
Was haben Massiv und Haftbefehl bitte mit Takti gemeinsam? :D
ManOboy on
i love wutang, biggie smalls, 2 pac, nwa, all the throwback shit from the 80'/ear;y 90's man. thats when rap was good.
Blüdrayne on
you're missing out on the early 80s kind. before the "gangsta" thing blew up.

WU TANG AIN'T NUTHIN TO FUCK WIT
I love that song :D
Slaughter Lord on
I like some american Underground Rap, but I really love german (semi)underground Battle Rap and 'Conscious' Rap.
Artists like Westberlin Maskulin, Taktlo$$, old King Kool Savas, Justus Jonas, Morlockk Dilemma, Huss & Hodn Prezident or Kamikaze Brothers.
J.j. Rath on
I hate the music deeply! I don't want to insult other people or harm them with this quote, but i really don't like it, and that was your question. So Im sorry dude ;)

For anyone here that likes Wu-Tang and all their offshoots, check out Gravediggaz if you wish the Clan were even more morbid. ;)
