when you trade with someone, there's always gonna be a security risk.. even if the other trader is a reliable one, postal service might fuck something up.. you never know. It's a risk you have to take. I think an instant chat might smooth the process up a little bit, while even being able to still see the previous messages sent to one another, like with Facebook. if something fucks up with the trade, we could then maybe share the chatlog with you.. Sounds like a swell idea to me, don't know how it sounds to you tho.. you're the boss :P

A limitation of the number of items a member can upload in one day. How many time have we see some new member uploading 50 t-shirts or patches/cds in one day? It's really annoyng when you or another member uploads a cool item and 20 mintes later it's "buried" by 40 new ones because someone thought is a good idea to upload his WHOLE collection all at once. It's even worse if you have something for sale or trade. So if there was a limit of 3-4 new items for each category per day everyone whould have more time to display their items and all the other members whould have more time to see it, comment etc.
i think this is stupid, when I have only one day to work really at TSS, I´ll put on 20+ uploads from the last weeks at once, why should this got reduced?
If you upload 20+ items at once you don't leave any space for other user to upload and display their items. Even your own items will be "buried" and ignored if you upload them all at once. Their is no point to upload them just to exist it the tss data base right ?
Those features are great if I want to search for a specific item or items of a specific band. But is really awesome if you discover a new item when you just enter the main page of the site . After all the whole point of tss is to display/show your collection and comment, rate, trade, sell etc. with other members not just to upload it online ! This limitation will affect mainly new member not old ones because most old members have already upload the majority of their items. It would encourage newcomers to spend more time here insted of droping off a load of pictures and then go away. And everyone will have more time to show their new items .
I get what you're saying here but for me, some of the shirts I've uploaded are for some local bands near me, bands that I'm sure many users here haven't heard of and would probably never search for and just as a fan I'd like to give them a little exposure by posting the shirts... its kind of a bummer that a smaller, lesser known band has to lose out on some exposure because someone goes and uploads their collection of 100 of the same maiden / priest / big 4 / overkill etc shirts we've all seen a million times......its even worse when they're all slightly differing variations of the same band / tour / album...
I've also uploaded a couple of shirts for some bigger bands that no one else has posted before or since (so far) and again, a rare, unseen shirt that might interest someone could go unnoticed because of someone's mass upload session....no disrespect to anyone who owns a giant collection and simply wants to share it and I know putting limitations infringes on the other users' freedoms but I'm just saying :P
No shit! The first time I uploaded that Sabbath box set I just bought last week, it was buried half a page down within a couple of hours because this new Portuguese member Flame was uploading what seemed like dozens of items! It must have been viewed by a whopping two people the first time around.
you already get an email, and a pop up at the bottom of your screan when it happens when you are online.
you can also see if there are new/unread coments on your pics when you look at them on your profile. says so in red below the upload.
yea I would like to be able to list all my items that have a new comment. If I miss the email and someone comments on something old, it can go un noticed for awhile.
Groups sorted by genres will lead into a huge confusion, since too many bands can't be put into a clear genre. Someone will post a Venom shirt into the Black Metal group and suddenly all hell breaks lose and the unnecessary arguing starts.
How about enlarging the pictures of the cd/vinyl/patch/poster etc section?, those pictures are fucking tiny!!!

Would it be possible to sort of connect a new upload to a previous one if it's an update of the same item? In some cases there is multiple uploads to a band that is actually the same things because people upload several versions of their vests. Some way to add that your upload is an update of a previuos upload and then only the new bands are added to the count. It would also make it easier to find older and newer versions of an item.

I dont know if this has ever been discussed in the forum (a quick google search within the site points to no) but how to treat bands with the same name? E.g. Orchid (screamo/hc band from Massachussets vs psychedelic rock/doom band from SF). Do we use the same system as in Discogs, with numbers in brackets after the name, we put something else in brackets (what?), we dont differentiate... ? Is there a way to pull the data from Discogs so when you input the name of the artist you get a selection menu or something? LastFM does it quite messily in my opinion.
