I should have gotten the XL, this is L and the sleeves are rather short. I hate Fruit of the Loom LS precisely for that reason. Not a big deal but I like my sleeves to be longer than my arms.

Me being a girl, I know how hard it is to be feminine and metal at the same time. You see, metal is a boys club. It does not necessarily exclude girls but it seems to be more readily attributed to men than women. For all that metal does, it's never feminine. The genre seems to revel in the fact that it's masculine. The riffs are low pitched, it's fast and dark and the vocals (for the most part) are growled or screamed. None of these are woman friendly. But we still embrace it.

Introducing is a bit different than "TURNING", eh? And anyway, she will most probably be listening to your favorite bands only as long as you two are dating, then change her appearance and musical tastes when the next boyfriend comes. Woohoo. I've seen that enough already so much from females that I rarely take their musical tastes seriously anymore. A few exceptions,girls I really know well.
Due to mental problems I'm not dating at all but thanks for your concern. If I would, I'd rather date someone who would listen to whatever she really likes herself (be it something else than metal) than have her suddenly listening to my fave bands.

You took my comment too seriously. I wasn't actually suggesting that I "turned" my girlfriend into a metalhead. It was a joke. She knew a lot of the more mainstream bands already. But of course after being around me a lot and hearing what I was listening to, she was introduced to a lot of new bands. And as a matter of fact, most of her favorite bands now are bands I don't even listen to.

There aren't enough of us. All my metalhead friends are guys. I try and get other girls into metal so that it's not just me and the guys, but that's easier said than done. For anyone. The very few metalhead girls I have met [that were actually metalheads] were all older than me and I couldn't get over how badass they were. But the fake ones were , um, fake. As for what people think of me as a metalchick, most people think it's "pretty cool" and then they get over it and just think of me as that short girl into fish and heavy metal music. Sort of like part of my personality. Guys are metalheads, girls are "obsessed with metal". Probably if I was taller I'd be more called a metalchick. But I think so long as my physical description, and I quote "if she isn't wearing a homeade vest thing covered with metal band logos, she's wearing a black t-shirt with some metal band on it", I think I fit the definition. I don't know any chick metalheads face to face (though I've met a couple ofc), only a few with a good enough appreciation for a few solid bands, whether that was due to my influence or not.
What do I think of them? Same I think of metalhead guys, really. They can be incredibly interesting people worth spending hours upon hours of time with, or they can be scum. It's like that way with all people.

It is an incredible thing, when you are talking to someone about random stuff, then you get to the topic of music; and they say: "Oh you know, mostly rock", Me: "Oh? What kind of rock?" Them: "I guess like heavy metal." Me: "......how heavy?" Them: *Starts naming bands you jam*. But there is nothing quite like meeting a really smart and attractive girl that listens to at least some of the same stuff. Recently I've met a girl that listens to some of the basics, and she really digs Amon Amarth! I showed her a shit load of folk metal that I thought she would like(and that I want her to listen to, haha). I am always trying to turn people onto more good stuff.

May I also add that the majority of female metal heads I've seen at concerts all look goth and wear really thick eyeliner, I'm not sure if it's just me, but that's the trend I see at shows and on facebook as well. Of course there are exceptions, I was at a metal festival a few days ago and met a couple of girls there that don't fit into this stereotype. Apart from that, 70-80% of females I see at shows try to look as "dark' as possible but I don't see this trend in males, could a female metalhead here shed some light on this?

The fact that any would be into metal is a bonus, of course looks can help, but nobody is perfect...and looks really shouldn't be all we consider..well..that's just the way I regard this idea.That being said though, someone who looks great, well...looks great! No point in denying it. Though I did make a recent friend at a concert, and she loves Watain and music like that...^_^ and she's a looker and a half!*which is like a bonus*

It's true that metal is a male dominated genre. At shows all the girls can be counted on one hand.But I think girls can listen to metal just like the men. It's just a matter of taste and it happens that men like it better than chicks.
What I dislike about metalchicks is when fat ones wear too tight shirts, so you can see all the fatrolls. Or girls wearing oversized shirts. I always try to look feminine, wearing heels and tight pants/shirts.

REAL Metal girls are few and far between. I don't count the skeezes that show up in kuttes that are obviously their boyfriend's or wear a random Bathory shirt and eyeliner just to look cool, but the ones that are actually into it and we can talk about it. Chances are most girls are just there to be trophies/slobber posts for some guy who couldn't leave his wench unattended for a night, or some asshole paid for them to get in when they didn't feel like barhopping.
I saw a girl wearing a goddamn Love Pink hoodie at a Sepultura show, and since free tix were being given out over the past week, I'm a bit suspicious of her presence being anything close to congenial to the metal faith... In short, real metal girls are awesome, and they will more than likely stand out when every other chick is out to bang Blackguard's bassist or something. Cheers.

My girlfriend listens to alot of the stuff i do, and every once in a while she will find her own band that she likes, but shes not into it as much as i am (but most people aren't). But she also hates poser metal sluts ALOT. She get's noticed by other guys and sometimes talks to them about bands which i think is cool (i dont mind her talking to other guys casually). She's just glad i dont listen to deathcore or cradle of filth.

I don't think attractiveness makes a difference. Unless sleazy dressed counts as attractive. Its pretty obvious who is posing and who isn't. Usually the girls in the Metallica shirts standing in the back. I'd get pissed if someone said I was a poser just because I was pretty.

Okay, I must admit that I'm not too femenine, a 95% of my wardrobe are men's clothes, but they are so cool and comfy, I also play male-oriented games like Wolfenstein, Killzone, Burnout and God Of War, I'm often confused with a lesbian.

im pretty intrigued with most of the stuff said on here. everything that i would have said has already been told, so, i guess my take on this is that i go to shows for the music.
i might not be the hottest, or thinnest girl there but i go to shows for the music and only that.
i do admit, there are a lot of gross looking girls, among the obnoxious drunken sluts, but, i dont see why that matters. if they like good music then that should be that.
i do enjoy how underground the real metal scene is and i will show people bands but not if i dont think theyll appreciate it. which, most people dont these days.
and honestly, how could a girl look super appealing after enjoying themselves at a good show? i dont think ive ever stood in the back or came out of a great show looking like i did when i first arrived.i aim to look decent when i go out, regardless of where it is, but at shows ill be sweaty from the pit, or dirty and bloody even, or ill just be a hot mess after headbanging around everyones body heat all the way in the front of the stage.

Metalchicks are extinct in my area, we only got scene/emo girls, who are annoying as hell. I've only met rocker-chicks who are into Led Zeppelin, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana who hate Metal music and think Slipknot are "cute". Damn, Its hard to find fellow metal girls or even metalheads in general. I've got maybe 3 real metalhead friends.

Use it to your advantage, most metal lovin' women I've been lucky enough to meet don't like short hair, let alone people who *are* short. Ideally women who appreciate us as who we are are supreme in my mind, and I could give a fuck about the rest.Of course, similar music taste is good, but if you have something working in your favor,such as you do, don't waste it, don't let those gene's fail you. Get over being shy by networking more, then meet up with some of the people you network with, that's what I've started to do and it helps! I would also go with the casual drinks suggestion, but ideally just be yourself....I get nervous around some women as well, but if you take charge that's the best you can do ! ~cheers

I could not complain about most metal girls around. Of course there are some ugly (really ugly) women walking around, but generally speaking most girls I've ever met at concerts/festivals were pretty good looking i.e. hot.
But this might also be down to the fact that I'm actually young(er than most guys here) and so these girls are.
Talking about girls in general, I think metal chicks are always more manly than the "other girls". Strong music - strong women. I myself would not like this type of woman in a relationship, it just doesn't work out, especially if she's into a different kind of metal than you are (in my case she was into shitty Black Metal and DSBM and I'm a full-on Death Metal maniac). Interests collide.
there are fairly manly girls who in relationships or other than music are pretty girly though. i know myself, i can be pretty manly at times, (usually shows) pitting, or wrestling with the guys and practically being one around my buds, but im fairly girly as well. i do my hair and makeup (or attempt it) every day amongst other ladylike things.

Well, it was probably a matter of her obstinacy.
There's a small edge region between "Yes, I listen to metal and nothing more" and "Oh, look at yourself, your taste in metal sucks", which is still OK, but the last extreme sucks and the first would probably (for the metal related guy) feel like he's talking to someone who is simply not interested.
Metal+Metal relationship can only work when both man and woman have the same idea of metal, I guess.
