I think my first show was Boston and Styx a few years ago. I hadn't really even heard of Styx at that time, I was just there to see Boston, it was a blast. But my first real metal show was Summer Slaughter 2009 in New Orleans. The main reasons I went was to see Dying Fetus and Blackguard. I also ended up seeing some other bands that I had never heard of that were apparently pretty big like Origin.

Metallica, Korn and Slipcock when I was about 11 or 12 years old in 2004. altho I liked Slipknot and Korn at that age, I got back from that concert as a nu-metal hater, because Metallica kicked their asses(although they`ve had their best time, I didn't knew any better).. that led me to Metallica`s influences and thats how I got by bands like Motörhead, Diamond Head, Angel Witch, Venom and all the other good stuff. so in a certain way it was the right concert for me.

My first was actually almost a Slayer show in the Orange County fair in California. I was walking around the fair grounds wearing a Slayer shirt(I was about 12-13 at this time) and some dude was walking in the opposite direction with his buddy and saw my shirt and started screaming "SLAYER!!" and gave me a high five! I found out later that day that I had missed Slayer by a few days(I didn't even know they were playing there). Haha, that dude must have seen Slayer there, he was so psyched to see a little kid wearing a Slayer shirt, lol.

Mine was a small underground metal gig with local bands. good ones, actually. which is rare. I remember MeltgSnow played. and Oshiego, and some others. My first "big" one was megadeth in 2007. The next night I went to Black Sabbath (Heaven & Hell lineup). Some of the best times ever.
