Greetings all, has this one been done before? I can't remember....but if it has...well..whatever, I decided to make a forum post. I'm wondering what some of your top female fronted bands are. While the majority of the metal I listen to is created by men, here are some tough and awesome vocalists who are woman and the bands are worth checking out, most are probably known...but perhaps a few in my list might be new to you?! *Also* if anyone could recommend me some female black metal this isn't on this list and isn't Astarte or Anguished, that would make my day....because I don't like those 2 groups, but I am looking to see if more women are making it into black metal.

-Darkestrah(pagan/folk)
-Bestial Holocaust(thrash/black metal)
-Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult( I have so much respect and admiration for Onielar, she would make most men shit in their pants...a true female warrior of heathen black metal)
-...though I don't really like all of Arch Enemy...Angela Gossow outta be mentioned.
-Dana Duffey and her work with 'Demonic Christ'(death metal..with some black metal) my friend recently showed me this band and it's really worth checking out!
-DödsÄngel, which is a one woman project featuring really cool grind and black metal vocals.
-Acid(Belgium speed metal!)
-The Plasmatics
-Galadriel(with Sona Kozakova a.k.a "Witch" on vocals, a really neat Melodic Doom metal band)
-Cruachan(Celtic Lore/Folk) should be mentioned...but only with regards to their early albums, which featured a really good vocalist named Karen Gilligan who did certain vocals, she wasn’t the front of the band..but she did bring a powerful vibe to the music
-Holy Moses(awesome speed and thrash metal from Germany and easily one of the best female vocalists!)
-Nocturnal(one of the best bands with female vocals for purely chaotic and evil sounding black thrash)
-Mythic(a really wicked doom and death band) They are now split, but their Demo ‘The Immortal Realm’ and their 1993 EP ‘Mourning in the Winter Solstice’ are really worth listening to.
-Nuclear Death( especially any of the material from 1990-92, with a fucking wicked death/grind vocalist Lori Bravo
-Dracena(from Sweden)
-Thorr's Hammer
-finally one last band came to mind, Cerebral Bore, with Simone "Som" Pluijmers on vocals...it’s a bit to slam and overly guttural for me to like it, but none the less..her work on Maniacal Miscreation is brutal and impressive.
