I started this vest a few weeks ago after finally getting a job my problem was the lack of denim jackets in Arizona but after much looking I finally found a light blue acid washed denim Levi jacket so I cut the sleeves and dyed it black.... Twice from then on it was just a matter of studding, cutting, and sewing
The Darkthrone back patch is a shirt cutout and the Leftover Crack is a back patch cut into 4 pieces

Even if this zebra collar was implying "gay" in a blatant way, I don't see what the issue is,unless you are attempting to bring your personal views on that kind of stuff into the matter. I would agree, at least by my tastes, visually it looks odd, which is maybe what you mean? ....of course it is simple to suggest it is a flamboyant idea(hey you certainly wouldn't catch me wearing zebra or tiger, etc) but labeling everything "gay", that questions the stereotypical ideal, or is something against normal clothing tastes,or our tastes, just seems kind of ignorant and at the very least narrow minded, especially considering it's the choice of the wearer.Let's also look at the fact he's crafted a punk/metal vest crossover kind of project and I know some of the kutte's I've seen, with that approach, take interesting patterns,cut outs, prints, animal related looks, etc...it has ties to the whole "punk" feel....which I'm not saying have a direct place on t shirt slayer, but it is a factor to consider.
Imo it's the layout, patch placement and perhaps band choices(to a certain degree) that outta be holding full critique, even if the rest of the jacket is at odds with our opinions or thoughts. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I could be wrong.

I like the bathory back patch and the only other band I've heard a bit from are the Nekromantix, I missed their show back a while ago...but Amon Amarth happend on the same day, still...it is interesting music...psycho billy I believe? The only other band I like from that genre is batmobile.
Are you planning on incorporating some crusty punk and crossover metal?I fucking love crust punk myself..... maybe even some grind and black metal?... it's your kutte, so it will be interesting to see where this goes!
I couldn't say visually the zebra print works, at least for my tastes, but it's your unique jacket and that's cool none the less......it has that older punk feel to it, but the studding and back patch put it in this era!
The back patch is Darkthrone ;D and I'm surprised you haven't heard Horrorpops if you've head of Nekromantix since the singer/bassist from them is the guitarist for Horrorpops and is married to their singer/bassist but I guess if you don't listen to it much then you could overlook them but yeah it's psychobilly at first I wasn't a big fan especially of the Nekromantix but I learned to love it and Rockabilly haha
As for this vest it's pretty much done although a vest is never really done but as for now I'm satisfied with this I wanted to keep its simple but I'm sure I will run across a patch or pin or some random object to sew on I was planing on this being a punk only vest but it kinda evolved into some punk/psychobilly/metal thing haha but I wouldn't mind some more crust since I only have Mouth Sewn Shut I'm thinking of maybe putting some Toxic Narcotic on it now
I'm really surprised there's so much criticism of the zebra pint but I love it so it'll stay even if some people think it's "gay" haha and thanks for your comment and feed back!
