My first Kutte, I couldn't decide on a backpatch (Even though I have 4 of them) so just put a bunch of small ones for bands I love, I love so many different genres it was hard to pick who to have and not to have, I might end up changing it around a little one day or just make a couple more jackets with some spare patches I have.

Thanks man, Yeah love my BG strip :) It has a couple of meanings, Its the flag for Vinland (What the Vikings called North America) I have it for Type O Negative, for Vikings because they kick ass, and for Viking Metal in general.

Totally! Since I still have a Walkman, I got one of those C120 cassettes and put October Rust on one side, Twilight Of The Gods by BATHORY in the other side. The tape ended up getting eaten up by friend's shitty ghetto blaster, unfortunately, haha.

I have a Discman, too. TOTG is an absolute classic! I think that album is a little underrated compared to Blood On Ice and Hammerheart. I have the original Black Mark CD pressing of it. I found a pretty sweet sale on Ebay for them.

The guy was selling the S/T album, Hammerheart, Twilight Of The Gods, Purity Of Essence, and Nordland II on CD. I bought the CDs for about 35 bucks. I have all the BATHORY CDs (3 originals; the rest are 2003 re-masters); 3 vinyls (Under The Sign Of The Black Mark, Blood Fire Death Pict. Disc, The Return....), and one cassette. The only thing I noticed that was different was the mastering of Requiem. The drums on the re-master sounds louder, and there's more treble. My cassette copy of Requiem has lower drums.

Another Black Metal/Thrash album probably. I think Octagon and Requiem were probably closest to catching the spirit of the earlier albums. It would also would've been very interesting if Quorthon put out another solo album. I actually run a BATHORY fansite (http://www.geocities.ws/bengarcia/bathoryrules/main.html). The site is viewed best in Firefox. For some reason IE browser scales it down. Chrome, Firefox and Opera browsers should display the site the way it's intended.

My BATHORY vinyls are 2003 re-prints, too. I'd like to get an original BATHORY shirt; it's the one where the goat has a full neck. The later pressings are cool, but there's something about the whole goat that seems more kick-ass.

Thanks, man! I designed the site, as well. It's good to see there's still some free web hosting services out there. Band pages back then, in the '90s, just seemed cooler. Nowadays, there's blogger pages and wordpress blogs for music; there's really no creative design put into it. A wordpress page wouldn't have done it justice. I just had to do a BATHORY tribute site. It seems pretty weird that most people my age are conveniently tweeting away, while I'm still talking about HTML coding and e-mailing, haha. The basics just seem to work better for me, I think.

It seems Black Mark doesn't update their inventory that much. I'll have to e-mail them and see when they'll get more shirts in. I bought the last BFD long-sleeve a couple years ago, and they haven't re-stocked yet! I'm hoping they'll re-stock with some more shirts. I need to spread the goat propaganda, haha. One planet under the black mark, haha.

Yeah. I figured I'd make the website because there's already a gazillion BATHORY fan forums and threads. Just recently there was a Quorthon tribute, where bands talk about the significance of BATHORY in the metal scene (http://www.metalcrypt.com/pages/interviews.php?intid=388).

The funny thing is I'm usually very late when it comes to bands. I listen to everything, though. Most metal-head friends of mine (I'm referring to their first impressions here) are like, "Ben, you're a true metalhead! You have a Kreator shirt on, three feet of hair, a kutte on your leather jacket and blah, blah, blah". That's until they look at my CD collection, haha. They're usually very surprised to see my very diverse un-true, pop music CDs; by pop music, I'm referring to groups like ABBA, and Ace Of Base. So, I guess I lost my credibility of being true, hahaha.

Then again, I was like that at fourteen years-old. I'm not saying that the music isn't important—it is—heck, I'm still the same metal-freak I've always been. It's just there's something about first getting into extreme metal at that age where image is sort of important. On average, I buy more metal albums than I do merchandise, haha. I guess it comes with working and more or less prioritizing finances. It's like, "Oooh, that shirt looks cool! Oh, wait. There goes that band's new album, I think I'll get that instead". But, of course I try to get a shirt whenever I can, haha.

I get more CDs then I do any other form of merch, CDs last forever if you look after them.

Indeed, man. I love classical masters: Richard Wagner, Gustav Holst, Beethoven, and some Mozart. Not really big on Mozart, though. Labels are only for fashion and clothes, haha. Speaking of clothing, I'm painting the BATHORY goat in the back of my leather jacket. My parents don't really get it because my hair would be covering the whole thing, anyway, haha. I've been doing a lot of sketching and planning for it. The tricky thing is painting it on; any little fuck-up could be noticeable, haha. Like having the goat look like a pissed off bunny, or kangaroo? (like this cover here: http://northernisolation.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/cover.jpg?w=400&h=400) Haha. Anyway, I got the Rammstein logo, and Vinnland flag on my right sleeve of my jacket.

Oh, damn, haha. The same thing happened with my brother. He cut his because of his job, although he didn't have to. My parents think it's cool, but they just don't get how I could have any design on the back of the jacket worth noticing if my hair is covering it, haha. I can kind of see where they're coming from on that aspect. Then again, the design will be noticeable when I ride my Harley Davidson around (well, I don't have a motorcycle yet, but I'm going for my license soon). That's the other tricky thing; I would have to find ways to put my hair in the helmet, haha.

My dad's also a Type O Negative fan. He likes a lot of Classical music, so that explains why he'd like the more epic albums in my collection. I remember playing The Return... album, and my dad didn't really like Death Metal BATHORY, haha. He does love the Viking BATHORY albums, though. His favorite is Blood On Ice.

Haven't showed my Dad the Viking Metal albums by Bathory yet, He enjoys some of the tracks off Octagon and loves the cover of Kiss' - Deuce because he's a massive Kiss fan (He got me into them & one of the bands that progressed me to! Thanks Dad haha) My Dad likes "heavy" to a certain degree, I say the spoken word part from Mayhem's - View From Nihil and bust into singing it and used to mosh in his face and he'd tell me to fuck off and smile.

a norwegian flag would be interesting, i have to do some digging into my heritage to actually figure out if theres norwegian in there, my sister suspects there is, would def feel more connected with black metal if that were the case, then also i could use the norwegian name i was thinking of for my black metal band and feel better about it, rn ive got another idea for it thats more ancient and obscure, also i have viking heritage so i love all things associated with that, especially viking metal, as for black metal i find myself more drawn to german bands or bands that have lyrics in german despite not being german, but german flags arent really that interesting and could possibly be weird and offensive, sorry for the ramble xD

You don't need to be Norwegian to use a Norwegian name for your band, You're passionate about something do what makes you happy, Look at Mayhem, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is a Latin phrase "The Mystery About The Lord Satan", Dark Funeral, Vobiscum Sathanas "May Satan Be With You", Sounds good man, Keen to hear what you do. There is some fine bands from Germany, I'm part German myself some of the town crest flags are really cool. People will only be offended if you say you're a Nazi and want to gas a race, If you wish to learn German and write in German I say go for it, Make your band unique and about your (and band mates) interests.

yes i think the vikings in my family are connected somewhere from France, i like french culture alot, and theres a few french black metal bands i listen to that are pretty good. Also i could prolly get away with a german flag if i say its connected with my step family, who are german/japanese, ill try and check out those town flags u were talking about... id use them if i visited the area, I like to travel, but yeah the topic of flags got me thinking and talking a bunch xD
