When I was in my 30's I lived in Japan for 5 years - my mom used the opportunity to throw to garbage all my cutoffs and battlejackets claiming "they got rusty" - it was not rust - they had grease stains from my bike (BSA M21 1956ׂׂׂׂׂ) when she told me on the phone she threw them away I felt like committing Harakiri in Tokyo.
None of my bike\metal-wear survived her cleaning frenzy - she assumed that "it was time for me to grow up" because I got married - the next photo I sent her from Tokyo was of me in new cutoffs...
